YES, Candy Crush Soda Saga is addictive but it’s no match for Tetris.
If you’re itching for some retro gaming action, we have good news – you can now play that classic, and a whole raft of other Game Boy titles on your smartphone.
Well, on the back of your iPhone, to be more precise.
It’s all thanks to a new case that snaps onto the rear of Apple’s handsets, from the iPhone 6 to the iPhone X, and comes loaded with 10 games – including Tetris, Formula One Racing, Snake, and Block.
It also packs that iconic Game Boy look.
A note of caution: This doesn’t appear to be an official Nintendo product, which could mean that it’s not entirely legit in terms of copyright.
Wanle’s case isn’t the first Game Boy smartphone accessory we’ve seen: remember Hyperkin’s Smart Boy?
The £38 Game Boy-shaped smartphone dock – that let you rip Game Boy games on to an accompanying app and emulator to play on your Android phone – started off as an April Fools’ Day prank.
But, people loved the idea so much that two years later, in 2017, it became a full-fledged product.
Wanle’s case arguably one-ups the Smart Boy add-on, especially for casual gamers.
Firstly, it doesn’t cover any of your precious iPhone buttons and ports (such as the microphone, headphone jack, and rear camera).
It also packs its own screen, leaving your iPhone’s display free to use.
And, at it’s current sale price of $24.95 (£18), it’s less than half the price of the Smart Boy.
The regular retail price is $79.95 (£58).

Though some reviews on Wanle’s website complained of the quality of the case’s materials, and that its buttons didn’t work properly, overall the feedback seemed positive.
To start playing, you just slot a small battery into the inside corner of the case, and place it on the back of your smartphone.
Now, you’re ready to relive the early days of portable gaming.
We’ve asked Nintendo for clarification on whether this is an officially licensed product, and will update this article with any response.
