AN UNCENSORED version of controversial horror game Agony will be available on PC in all its blood-soaked glory thanks to a devilish workaround.
The crowdfunded survival horror finds players battling their way out of hell by possessing humans and demons alike.
Agony was supposed to land on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on March 30, but has been indefinitely delayed in part due to bucket-loads of violence, torture, and nudity.
In a Kickstarter post, developer Madmind Studio said that it’s “modifying” the gruesome title to avoid an Adult-only rating – a death-knell for video games that essentially blocks them from consoles.
The studio added that all versions of the game will be toned down, including the PC release.
But it also confirmed that PC players will be able to download a special patch that unlocks the uncensored cut
The patch won’t be available on console, due to “technical” and “legal” reasons, so Madmind is giving Kickstarter backers of the game the option to switch to the PC version.
In terms of what’s being cut out, the developer is keeping quiet to avoid spoilers, but it did note that all the footage from the terrifying trailer will remain in tact.
That means impaled naked humans galore.

“In order to be able to publish the game, we had to make some compromises,” wrote Madmind. “Otherwise, we would have had to to delete the whole project and never release it.”
It continued: “Do not be afraid, the full version of Agony is much heavier than what you’ve seen so far anyway.”
